283 Expansion plug locations

So, its finally time to throw the 283 back together. The block is used but i did have it stripped and cleaned. As a part of a package from the machine shop, they threw in some expansion plugs and pipe plugs. But im not framilliar as to where they all go. Any help is appreciated. I dont wanna miss one plug and be "that guy"



Oh the block is a 64 out of an impalla

Each side gets 2 of them, 2 in the front and there is one in the rear cam area. The pipe plugs will also go back there. I am surprised they did not install them, would have taken no time.

The holes are big and will not be hard to see.

The photo of the rear, see the hole in the flex plate @ 11, you can see the rear freeze plug and the pipe plug @ 12 . On the top rear of the block and left of the disturber hole you will see another.

The side plugs you can see two of them just above the rail for the oil pan and below the motor mount area, look from the fuel pump block off and to the rear. Two on the front of the block also.

The one up top is for the road draft tube if your not using it. If you are make sure you have the baffle that goes in the valley at the rear of the block.

Don't forget the one that goes in the oil passage above the rear main bearing cap.
