Post 283 heads

On my 283 the heads have one hump on them, I have seen them without any humps and with two humps.what are the differences

The two hump heads are called fulie heads!!!! They have the bigger valves in the. I have 202 on my truck. They are the big valve dbl hump heads cast iron. There are also 194 dbl hump heads smaller than the 202`s , but still bigger vales than most. Later years the humps were smaller in size. When you have the valve covers off again look at the casting numbers under the covers. Look them up at "MORTEC.COM" and you`ll know what size you have. Hope thius helps some.

Go to Mortec on the web. They have pictures listed that show the head sembles. I think it is www.mortec.com
