Post 283 Match-up

Does anyone know of drawbacks to putting 3917291 heads (originally off 327) on a 283 engine.

The valves will probably hit engine deck because the cylinders are smaller.

I do not see why you could not do this. Look it up in a changablity site or book. As well you can allways clay the head when you assemble it.You simply fill the combustion chamber with clay, flush with the head. Sit it in place and bolt it down. Toqure it like you would nomally. Then turn the crank threw a couple a times. Remove the head and look for signs of interferrince. I hope i have not bored you with some thing you all ready knew. Hope this is of some help.
