29 Chevy 2 dr sdn Should I?

Hi,I'm a newbe and have intro'd 2 times .I recently purchased a 31 botie truck basket case, and did well at 800.00.This is not an advertisement.I just tripped across a 29 2dr strd sdn. and talked the ole man down to 2500.00. I have put asmall depos. dwn. and based on what I saw in the latest hennings on pg.300 ,top middle,I'm wondering if any of you might have some input on what a ride like this is really worth as money is tight w/ the other rod coming on(al though I can use some parts on it for now) .The car is complete w/ orig. glass and wood.I will be rodding.Natually theres more to say about this car,but was hoping for some honest input .

wooden car

As you know these old chev,s are full of wood,, usually all rotted out,, you mentioned that it was all origional , including the wood,, then My guess would be that the wood needs replacing. all the doors swing on the wood structure, and usually are saging, I am working on a 36 Chev sedan now and the car is in great shape ,, but the wood is really bad, so I am replacing it with steel tubing and sheetmetal,, not a real easy job, but a wood kit is 5K dollars, so If I was you I would check the wood structure real good,, it might look sturdy ,, but check for dryrot,,

I hope I havn't discouraged you too much,, but if the wood isn't good I think 2500. is a bit high,,, but thats my 02 worth,

The 36 that I'm working on isn't mine,, I would have second thougts about building a rod with so much wood in it,, they creak and groan and rattle, but again thats my 02,, sorry BILL
