292 Chev Straight Six Go Fast Bits?

HEY CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT SORT OF GO FAST BITS ARE AROUND FOR THE 292 SIX. I AM IN AUSTRALIA AND THINKING OF PUTTING ONE OF THESE IN A 48-215 FX HOLDEN SEDAN. WHAT I AM THINKING OF IS A STRAIGHT LPG SYSTEM RUNNING THROUGH A SHEET METAL MANIFOLD WITH A T4 TURBO GIVING IT SOME GO. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE THESE THINGS RUN OUT OF REVS . AND HOW MUCH THE BOTTOM END WILL TAKE BEFORE IT GOES SOUTH. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREAT.AND AM I RIGHT THAT THE V8 GEARBOX SAY A TURBO 350 BOLT STRAIGHT TO THESE. THANKS SEAN

Yep any small block or big block chevy transmission will bolt up to the back of that motor. I don't know much else about them though.

292 Chev Straight Six Go Fast Bits?

I would look into CLIFFORD research for engine parts. his company has been specializing in 4 cylinders and 6 cylinders since the early days. He was the man that made the 1000 hp 4 cylinder engine for the F1 indy cars, but they banned the engine bc of the montrocity of power it made against the competitors.Ok well take a look around for clifford

Anything anybody tells you about 292s vibrating at high rpm and shaking dampers and flywheels loose is true. Normal weight-balancing is a must, but it's torsional vibration (the long crankshaft twisting back & forth) that makes them come apart. Glen Self told me how he was keeping his race car screwed together back around 1971, but mine slung a rod out the side before I could give it a thorough street-driving test. Sure was fun while it lasted, though.
