292 I6 Cam

My truck is a 1949 Chevy 3/4 Ton pickup, I use it as a daily driver and my weekend racer so to speak. I replaced the original 216 with a 292 and am looking to up the power.

The 292 has a Clifford intake with a 4bbl 500cfm Edelbrock carb, Fenton dual headers, Lump ports, 9.5 to 1 compression, 1.94 int. 1.50 exh valves. I'm shooting for 300+ HP and about the same in Torque. Can you recommend a cam that will meet or exceed my needs?

I'm not looking for economy, power is what I want, but I still want to get miles to the gallon~ not gallons to the mile, if you know what I mean.

Also, if you can think of any other mods I can make to increase power without breaking the bank please share.

Tom lowe at 12 bolt gave me some good info~ tell me what you think about it, Here's a copy of the email:
"A clifford 270 cam, clifford intake, 600 holley, headers, 9-9.5 to 1 comp. The head is another place the power is hidden in. 1.94/ 1.60 valves, bolt in lumps and removal of extra material in head and a port job.
300 hp will be yours. -Tom"

Just looking for other opinions.

Thanks in advance,
QParker
