I'd recommend short travel lifters. If you should want to 'zero lash' the lifters, or even decide to try running them w/lash like a solid
, be sure to get lifters that have the internal C-clip type retainers (retainer on the left below), not the round wire type (center and right).
That said, unless you are going to swap out the rear gear and torque converter, use a smaller cam. Someone will be along w/recommendations for that, I'm pretty sure.
What is the rest of the combo- intake, carb, headers, etc.? And how are you going to be using this bad boy?
