3.0 Tip Poly Primer Gun

Does anyone use a 3.0 or larger gun tip for poly primer; my 1.8 tip works but I was thinking of purchasing a poly primer gun with a 3.0 tip; for heavy filling. I was wondering if these tips are to large. Thanks to all; I have learned so much from all of you. Thanks again

I use a 2.2 tip (and have even used a 1.8) which will lay it on nice and smooth. I would almost think that a 3.0 would be fine for spraying house paint

I use an air gunsa with a 3.0 tip for shooting polyester. It allows me to put the material on faster with no thinning. I think the polyester has made me lazy though. I used to spend more time making the mud work perfect now I just rough it in and hose on the polyester primer.

Stick with a 1.8-2.0 and let it be.
You "hose" poly on and it takes longer to cure out besides peeling it.Poly is best built in layers and one other thing.
Polymers CHIP like no tomorrow and "if" you have excessive build at edges, say doors, and you get a "hit" on it. It WILL chip off big time.
Learned this the "almost" hard way. It's fine for filling but you want a GOOD filler at an edge if you expect no problems later on or feather it out to just primer & paint. It's no real replacement for a real filler.Same goes for glazes. No where near the toughness of a true body filler.
I keep mine with a 2.0 and layer it on with 10-20% reduction with Acetone for a nice finish and quicker cure & sanding. I still give it 24 -48 hr before sanding.
