3.73 gears good or bad?
hello uys i have an 81 camaro w/ 10 bolt rear..has a set of airplane gears in it ..it was orignally for a v-6 but now it has a 383 would a set of 3.73 gears do well for the street?..also how about posi w/ these gears re they had to install?..thanks chad
btw i have 16 in cragars on it if this helps

3.73 are great gears for strip or street. I have 3.73s in my car and love them. I went from 3.08s to 3.73s and it was a great improvement!

Whats the trans? If it's a 200C, 350, or 400 I wouldnt use anything above 3.23 if you like to drive on the beltway.

well heres the problem..i dunno what kind of trannie it is...maybe you can help..it cameoput of a 1986 monte carlo..w/ a 305 v-8 i'm thinking its a turbo 350 but noit sure..whats the max speed w/ these gears and what kind of stakll coverter should i get i was thinking of b&m holeshot 2200 what do you think?

Is it a 3 or 4 speed? If it is the right tranny for a 86 monte it should a 200-r4 I would guess with has an o/d and in which case 3.73 grears would be an good choice

With a thm 350 tranny 295/ 60 series tires 15" cragers and a 3:73 rear gear, what would me speed be at going 80 mph ?
