3-bolt chevy starter?

I was told that Chevrolet made a starter that allows three starter bolts to hold the starter to the block. Only two that I know of are the staggered, and straight across patterns.
If there is such a starter, Would anyone happen to know what vehicle(year, mod) it was found in?

I believe that they came on some big block trucks.

Doc here,

I'm not sure and I can't remember, but I think some old 283 's may have had them also..I seem to remember something like that.

Anyway, It's another place to look..

Thanks for the fast response!

I'm looking for some added support on my 350.
I had the block break off on the outer mounting hole (ear). I have just one small piece of the block where it broke, not enough for brazing. There's maybe an inch of threads left, and all else has failed so I'm going for the last chance before I buy another bolck.
While looking for someone to pull off a miracle weld, someone told me about this starter and how it would help to have that other bolt assist with the load.

I'm going to attach a pic if poss.
Thik J.B. could help me in any way?

Doc here,

Is the block out of the car?

You should be able to get the casting welded back together, but if it broke across the bolt hole, that will have to be filled then drilled and tapped to accommodate the starter bolt.

JB weld , I doubt is up to the task of holding that amount of torque..

The Hi performance mini starters have 4 holes in the mount..you might (if you have enough block left) Be able to drill and tap a mount hole for the middle hole on the mini starter..I don't know how much you have left, but it's worth a look.

Note the four holes..
