30 ford coupe on 32 rails.

Anybody put a 30 coupe on 32 rails? I need some help! I purchased a So-Cal 32 frame and with the body sitting on the rails there is a 1/2" gap mid door front to back narrowing to zero gap at the ends. There about 56" inches long. Another thing, bacause the lower body side channels are stepped how or what did you use for body mounts? Bill

Are you channeling the coupe or going hi-boy? Bascally now that the body is on the rails you need to shim the body until the door gaps are good and then make your body mounts to suit..

I have tried most all of it and now do what is known to work..

opps. wrong frame ??

A lot of companies modify the 32 frame rails so a Model A body can fit better. Usually they are listed as a pinched frame. My glass 32 roadster is quite bit wider than my steel 28 A, I don't know how the 30-31 A compares to the 32. A model A frame is straight on the top, wider at the rear. the 32 frame is contoured both on the top and sides. On the channeled roadster I built 50 years ago when I was in High School I notched the lower front corners of the cowl, and reworked the floor so it would fit. My present A roadster will be stock appearing, full fenders, lowered a bit both front and rear. The frame has been modified for coils in the rear and home made 4 bars in front, not too good of work. Do we start over or modify what we have to fix things.?

I used a long piece of oak wood on each side. Tapered with a table saw and router. Also the same for mounts. Hardwood blocks similar to what Henry used..
