30 ford coupe panel removal
 
A little help with a panel on my 30 ford coupe. Its the panel in front of the windshield I believe would be the upper cowl. The one where the gas tank cap is on. I had a shop cut the tank out and relocated it to the trunk and filled the hole. I now have to remove the panel so I can seal around the new top of the new fire wall. I see there are four clamps underneath and then 12 or so so bolts over the front but is there anything else I have to worry about? I have air leaks over the entire top of the firewall and especially where the two indentations are on the upper cowls sides. Does anyone make the new cowl seals? Any help would be appreciated. bill

That is all there is to it from what I remember. The firewall may need to come out first, I don't remember if the tank is under or over the lip on the top of the firewall. But those clamps you see on the sides do hold the "tank" in. Across the top of the cowl to the brace under the windshield, I don't remember for sure but I don't believe there are any bolts there. But there could be, this is all super easy stuff, and fun. So just take your time and remove the bolts you see and if it doesn't come out look for more bolts. It's all good, and it isn't hard to figure these cars out, that's the fun part.

Then when you re assemble use a good seam sealer to stop the air/water leaks. I use paintable clear siliconized Red Devil from a caulk gun. Cures tough and lasts forever.
