30 Ford coupe roof support inside

Well where do I start? I have a 30 Ford coupe with a chopped top. There is no wood other than the header and two hand made pieces over the door and quarter windows and the quarter frames. I also purchased the rear glass surround.

The top has been welded in so I need to make some kind of support inside for the new roof. The original wood frame was rotted beyond repair. I have the original brackets for the wood frame, two in back and two in front but Im not sure I can put it togeather [ If I purchase the wood kit say from Sac/ford ] with the new roof already welded in. I would also like to put some sound deadener between the roof and wood frame . Here is the question : Can I put the frame in after the top has been welded in or do I have to just make some kind of new frame? Bill

I see no problem installing it after the top is welded in. I am building a 31 coupe also with a welded in roof but I am using no wood. Everything is being replaced with boxed tubing.I will use thin wall so it will be strong enough to hold up the roof but not too thick to drill holes and use newer factory style push ins to support head liner.I have some good wood I will not be using if you want it you can have it.
