30 Model A

i wonder if any one can tell me if a 1930 Ford Model A frame is solid enough to handle a 300 horse engine. I know that Ford beefed up their frames in the early 1930 s but I don't know the exact year. I have a line on a 30 but I don't want to go through beefing up the frame, so if any one can give me this info it will be appreciated. Thanks. NO REPLY IS NECCESSARY AS I FOUND ALL THE INFO I NEED IN THE DATA BASE.

30 Model A

I curently run a 270 horse 283 with a 4 spd in my 28 coupe and I have no problem with the frame. Before I put the motor in I boxed the frame rails on both sides front to rear w/1/8 in plate. I also installed a removablle cross member with the 4 speed which strengths the rails a lot.

So to sum it up YES the rails will take 300 HP plus.
