Ok, I'll bite....are you commenting on something you heard?...are you making a statement?...and if so what do you base your findings on?...do you have any dyno cell stats to back it up, lets see them. Yes the 302 Chevy was a great little engine but it was still only 302 cubic inches and a 350 Chevy with comparable parts will make more power because it has 48 more cubes, it's just that simple. Ok let the games begin......

Agreed.
Yes, it theoretically can, if you twist it higher, make the same peak HP as a 350. But the average power will be less, which is why strokers are taking over.
Not only that, but with displacement comes driveability, and they can pull a proportionally taller OD for better economy and engine life. Because the displacement tends to bring with it a lower required RPM range, it also brings durability, and because less RPM greatly reduces stresses, the parts are less costly.
If you are going to buy the trick racing parts, the 350 can spin just as much RPM as the 302, and make the same peak HP ( airflow-limited ) while still making more average power by beginning to make fuller use of the available flow at a lower RPM.
Where's the real advantage of the 302?
And what 302 did you mean? Ford or Chevy? the Ford fits a few apps where the Chev doesn't, but other than that, the 302 blocks regularly break in half by the 700-HP level. Where's the advantage in that? I've seen a supercharged 383 do 850 HP on a stock block without breaking the block.
Welcome to the world that all the rest of us live in.

whoever told you 302's can make as much power as the 350's is wrong, them 48 cubes make a world of difference.

if its a ford 302 id have to disagree, on the other hand if its a sbc DZ302, the block interchangeabiltys are endless, like the 17 7/16 head bolts compared to fords 302 10 7/16 head bolts...... Id like to see a chevy 302 or ford 302 souped up also keep its stance in the street, (streetability) next to the same readily equiped 350 chevy

Yeah, and you can detune a 454 to the same power as a 307! Chevy did it with no trouble at all when they built their emission motors!
