302 or 350

how can you tell the difference between a 302 and a 350 i have a motor that the casting numbers are the same as a 302 and a 350 so i was wondering if there was another way to tell a difference?

re: 302 or 350

Chances are it's a 350. Is the engine apart or together?

re: 302 or 350

Measure how far the piston goes up and down. 3 inches=302. About 3-1/2 inches (3.48"), = 350.
