302- Edelbrock streetmaster + Qjet?

I got an 84` mustang gt 302ci, and i got a stock holley 650 on it right now. Somewhere around the garage i got a Edelbrock Streetmaster intake and i was wonderin if that along with either the holley or a rochester Qjet would work? If so what mods would i have to make? Please help me here.... i'm desperate for more speed. And i am entirely unsatisfied with the Holley............

On another note i got that Qjet onto my existing intake n got it running, but there was a problem with the vacuum and the idle was running roughly around 2000 to 2500, and i couldn't bring it down...... any suggestions would be much helpful for future reference.
