I have a 1952 Bel Air hardtop running a 320 ci GMC engine. It has Hicson headers with 3 " exhaust. I am currently running a Edelbrock 4 bbl carburator. The transmission is a 700 R4 and the rear end is a 9" Ford with 4ll gears.
The exhaust has been run into one pipe from about the middle of the car. I was wondering what if any, gain in HP I would have if I dualed it all the way to the back? Also wondering how it would sound...does anyone out there have this set up?
Hp depends on what else has been done to the engine, the sound will definitely change though. Changing your mufflers when you change the exhaust can also have a HUGE impact on sound.
