302 engine is stalling

I have a 302 ford engine that stalls after it runs for awhile, everything looks good on the gauges but after about running for 45min. it stalls. After I let it sit for a few minutes it cranks back up and goes for a few more minutes, the motor is in a 1976 boat. The engine cranks up fine from the start, but like I said it will stall after awhile. Any help would be appreciated Thanks

control module??? when it dies, get something to pour over the module to cool it off. If it restarts, module..next option would be the coil getting hot & breaking down. keep a known good coil in the car & swap when this happens. After that, bow your head, & make a sacrafice to Sparrky, the great electrical god

When the engine stalls, and will not restart, does it have spark? Fuel? What type of ignition are you running, and how is the coil mounted?

Welcome to Hotrodders. You will get more response to your question if you will put it in the Engine forum...also be more specific, tell what kind of ignition your are useing, tell us if you have checked anything when it does this such as is it getting fire, is it getting gas etc. Enjoy the site.

302 stalling

Thanks for the info, I'm getting fuel when I'm trying to restart but haven't checked for fire, will do that, the coil is mounted on the intake manifold and I'm sure absorbing heat from that which might be causing the coil to fail.
