302 ford engine front accessory brackets

Help! I need some tech advice on how to shorten this front overhang on my ford 302 engine. The is a rebuilt Pep Boys 1985 [code F engine.] it has the early style timing case cover with fuel boss, 50 oz balancer, spacer and double serpentine pulley. It has a 7" long combination power steering and alt bracket drivers side and long neck water pump with standard rotation. There's no smog pump and I would like to put A/c in it some day. The serpentine belt drives off the front balancer pulley. will the earlier big car V belt set up with the short water pump work on this engine?

Have you considered using the single serpentine
from a 88ish F-150??

That is my intention for my Falcon based Ranchero.
Looks to me that I have plenty of room for it.

It would be in your best interest to get an old compressor
just to use as an idler tho----that way, when you are ready to actually install
AC---the engine part will be there.

That is my plan for my car.
Have installed a Vintage Air unit under the dash as the car is apart for some upgrading.
Will also wire for the ac both in the cabin and under the hood whiler the car is apart
Acquired a compressor to complete the serpentine.
Now---all I need to get the AC going is the condenser, hoses and dryer

This is the Street & Performance set up - decent to look at, not too expensive when compared to others like Billet Specialties and March -





I had to mod and add the idler(it's from a '74 460).

This is set up with the standard long Ford (Stewart) water pump. Currently it is off of the engine and stored for the 'next' car as a/c in a roadster just didn't seem right and the top mount alternator by itself looked .... sloppy
