K&N air filter, low restriction exhaust system, tune it up with the best parts you can afford and use spiral core plug wires and route them correctly. Fill the rear diff with Royal Purple gear lube, this cuts rolling resistance, check the front wheel bearings and repack if needed, check the air pressure in the tires, leave the tail gate down, and most importantly, drive it as if there`s a egg under the accelerator pedal.

[color=lightblue][size=3]Doc here:

That's like 7.2 miles per gallon, Provided your Fuel gauge isn't scamming you.

See what Chips are Availble to you for econmy and replace it. Run some Good injector Cleaner through it...and Do All, As Double Vision Suggested.

While 7.2 MPG is not all that Great.. Still It is a 1/2,? 3/4? ton Truck...

Don't haul tools, truck boxes or anything you Don't really have to haul to lighten the load...yur Road Dawgie's Fat Auntie...

Other than that...
Public Transportation??

until, At least , if ever, the fuel prices drop a bit...

Personally, I'd Kill for 13 mpg on my Car... but that's another story...

Never check your milage by the gas gauge. You must start with a full tank and then find how much gas it takes to fill it to be even close. Does your truck have oversized tires? If so you'll need to correct the odometer or figure te difference into your milage. With my truck just changing tire size thrown the odometer off about 12%. Was that hiway or city miles? Also 54 is an awfully short distance for checking your milage. Check it over a full tank of gas if your staying in town.

yeah thats right, dont use your gas gauge... fill up your tank and take note of your milage, then drive tell the tank is almost empty, then when you fill up wright down your milage again and how much fuel you just put in the tank and do it that way...

stock setup is best

You will need to go back to the stock tire size and then add the K&N filter and the other suggestions to get the BEST gas milage in your PU truck.
