Post 302 piston dim. compared to 327 piston

Does anyone know what the difference in dims. between a stock 302 piston compared to a 327 piston. Iv heard that a 302 piston is TALLER due to the shoeter stroke of a 283 crankshaft used in a 302. Wrist pin to top of piston. Looking for the difference. They both use a 5.7 rod but the stroke is .250 difference. Thanks Dave

The pin height is different, the 302 has a pin location close or the same as a 283, for the stroke reasons you mention.

the compression height (distance from pin center to top of piston) is about 1.68" for 327 pistons, and 1.805" for 302 pistons. 302 pistons will go on a 327 crank with 5.565" 400 rods (this is what you're doing right?). the block might need to be milled 0.010 or even 0.020 cuz the 5.565 rods will want a 1.815 comp/height piston with 3.25" stroke.

9.025-(3.25/2+0.02+5.565)=1.815

anybody?
