302 Serp. Belt?

I have a '79 Mustang with a 302. Not sure of engine year, but guessing from the 70's era.

I was wondering what the most inexpensive way to go to a serpentine belt setup? This is my first Ford, and am not familier as to what will fit it.

The biggest thing I need to know is, what pulley's will work? Bracket fabrication and even mounting a tensioner is not really a problem.

Thanks, Mark

Just grab everything off the front of a Mustang 5.0 or Lincoln Mark 7. WP, pulleys, etc. Not the damper if you have a 5.0, they are different balance.

If you want more radiator clearance get into the early 92+ T-birds, or Mustang 94-95, their set up has the short WP.

Install all the brackets and skip the PS and AC if you want. Snoop to find the right length belt.

I believe that the Explorer V8 front bracketry is the shortest made, lengthwise. Not sure how that would work for you as far as balancer and mounting bosses on the heads, but it's something to consider.

Later - Karl.
