302 set up

I have a classic race boat i am restoring and would like some help setting up the engine. This boat has been apart for 15 years and i would like it to be reliable but fast if asked. The motor is a 302 winsor with 351 2v cleveland heads it uses a special intake manifold and some work to the heads to adapt. The cam is roller and a 600 holley. It also has a wet nitrous system. My question is it has a stock vac advance distributor with points. will this be ok for what i want or should i change to elect distributor and what kind. Also do i any thing if i run the nitrous, i saw something that retards the timimng when you hit the nitrous thank you
