Hello gang..,
I have a 1957 F-100, that i installed a 302 w/ electronic ignition.
We have come to a block wall, so to speak, as to WHERE,and or HOW to wire up this newer ignition system,to the older wiring system.
ALL the extra engine dressing has been removed,am down to the basic enigine,and what everit needs to RUN. the 302 is from a 1979 LTD ll.
is there anything "special" i need? i have the "brain box" brand new..,and the plug from the distributor.

You'll find a wiring diagrams for the donor vehicle here. figures 17, 18, and 19
That should give you an idea of what needs power and ground and where it's supposed to come from (i.e. switched or battery)

AWESOME..,went right to it..,seems to have just what i need. Will up date ya all if it works,lol.
I did all kinds of research on the casting #'s on block,that was what i came up with for the 302 engine..,LTD ll 1979.
I was given the motor by a friend..,who got it from a 1981 or 82 ford truck.
says it has 35,000 miles on a rebuild..,which..,some signs show "MAYBE"..,other signs say NO WAY.
it had a 2bbl carb adaptor on top of a Edelbrock 4bbl manifold. i "acquired" a 600 c.f.m. Edelbrock 4 bbl,for $25..,$50 for rebuild kit...,ready to wire it up and see how this FREE motor works out.
