Wezz: We aren't used to working in MM convert your readings to inches and post the paper with your readings. Get a pencil and paper write down the measurements of each cylinder tightest to largest dimensions from bottom of piston travel to top you will have several readings for each cylinder! Measure your pistons and see how much wall clearance you will have at the tightest position of travel! I think you measurements are off? By my calculations. remeasure them again!
Or your tool needs to be calibrated! Take your tool to your machine shop and have him check it against his! Is your small dial working It seems to be stuck on the .002mm LOL

Jester
Check your bore gauge with a mike like in this video.

Stock Bore is: 3.736 in or 94.8944 mm

305
Production: 19762000
Displacement: 305 cu in (5.0 L)
Power: 130 hp (97 kW)-250 hp (186 kW)
Bore and Stroke: 3.736 in 3.48 in (94.9 mm 88.4 mm)

MOTOR SIZE....... BORE........ STROKE
V8 - 305........... 3.736........ 3.48

Hi i did that . It was a few hondrerds to large @ some places . I let the pistons in and finish the block . Overbore is more expensive as a 350 block ! and my compression was good If you look good you can see a little hone schratches . So so bad it isnt right!?

No! .002" isn't too much!

Jester

Cylinders are probably good if you can see hone scratches! If it ran good before you pulled it, it will probably be fine! just assemble it! and break the cam & lifters in! The only thing I wondered was if steel bristles got into the ring lands from the wire wheel you used to clean the pistons while they were still in the bore!
