Post 305\350 PARTS

I know some of the internal parts are different. The question I have is it safe to bore the block to 350 specs.Or do the cylinder walls get to thin? Or are they just to weak?I have a few laying around the shop. If they are just boat anchors,I'll scrap them out for parts.

What are "a few lying around the shop"? If you mean 305 blocks, you'd have to bore them .250!!! You will then know the true meaning of "water cooled"! LOL
The only thing the 305 had in common with the 350 is the stroke length. Even then the 305 crank is lighter.

I used to have a neighbor that was an engineer for G.M. (And had been for over 20 years.)He told me he had worked on the 305 block design. It was his statement to me that has kept me from 305`s. This neighbor claimed that the wrist pins were offset in the pistons. Now that is allmost over my head, so i`ll leave it to others to expound on this. But it has been the reason i never look at 305`s. Hope this helps some.
