If you were to use a conventional head say a ported stock #4416 305 head with 1.94x 1.50 valves
on this engine, the 142 supercharger kit for this is less expensive. Its $2000.
If you were to do a good job porting the heads the power will be very similar to the vortecs.
Substitute the XE cam in the article for a Comp cs 268AH-14 cam 12-404-4.
Its roots blower friendly. Just right for this blown 305.
If you have a good used 305 with the 8.6:1 dished pistons and the 416 305 heads
you have a real good base for this build.
