305 engine

Whats Up everybody that is a member, I'm new to this website I was just searching the internet to figure out if a 305 can produce as much power as a 350 and I found this site because I just found out that I have a 305 and not a 350. I have a 84 Monte Carlo SS it is a true ss and I was wondering if I would get any power out of my car cause i was reading the board and someone had a comment saying that monte carlo ss's came with a 3000 stall and 373 gears I was wondering if that came with the year of my car. I'm not a mechanic and dont know too much about cars as far as engines and the different components thats makes up the engines and makes it go fast, all I know is the different names of some engines. I was just wondering if my engine in my car will give me enough horsepower to run with people that have 350 engines in their car. As far as I did to my car and engine was that I but new headers, a intake manifold elderbrock, a new MSD street fire distributor, new 650 carb elderbrock, new valve covers, tune up with new spark plugs and high perfromance spark plug wires, and a new air cleaner. My Carlo still has the original dual exhaust and mufflers. It has a shift kit in it but I dont know what kind of transmission it has in it. I havent had any problems out of my engine or transmission I dont know much about the engine it was in the car when I brought it about a year ago but it is not the original engine that came with the car in that year. My engine does not smoke or anything it runs great it seemed like it had alot of power thats why I thought it was a 350. So if someone can help me with my situation I will real appreciate it.

man ive always liked those cars, it's too bad the they put 305's in them, same with the majority of the camaros in those years

i looked up some info on them so here we go:

83-84 monte SS had 7.625" rears with 3.42's and in 84 came the option of the G-80 "posi" carrier, SS had the L69 5.0/305 w/ crossfire camaro heads = 9.5:1 compression L81 vette cam 750 Q-jet, th350C 3sdp auto trans
180hp, i couldn't find anything on a 3k stall

you can do minor mods to the motor without takeing it apart, but a in most cases a 350 will out run a 305, dont feel bad it's stll a cool car
