305 Hesitation on warm days only
The 305 in my Monte Carlo runs fine until its been driven in stop and go traffic on a warm day. When I accelerate from a stop, the car hesitates and bogs right around the 2-3 shift. If I let off the pedal its fine. If I really get on the pedal it stalls.
Most of the time the car starts right back up, once it took till the next morning to get the car to restart. Ive changed to fuel filter, the plugs are fine and the whole distributor appears to be new. I went all winter with no problems, except when the temp outside gets over about 75. The EGR tubes are plugged and they have been since I got the car. The 305 is the factory engine with the factory Qjet. Register now (free) or login to remove ads |

I would open the EGR passages, the computer knows it`s there and knows it`s not working and part throttle drivability problems are the result. Other than that I would check it for vacuum leaks. Other than that, is the computer still in use in this car or has it been bypassed?
