The original springs had 100 pounds of seat pressure, but only had a rate of about 200 lbs/inch. This means that the spring pressure at full lift would be about 200 pounds.

When changing ratios you'll need to check for correct pushrod length. The new 1.6 ration rockers will be slightly longer and may not roll across the center of the valve stem, which could create an issue where it wears incorrectly, or even comes off.
You'll need to mock up the heads, cam, rockers, and a pushrod, then check by turning the engine over with the rocker adjusted to zero lash, and see if it rolls on the valve stem close to center, or off to one side. If it's not centered then either longer or shorter pushrods will be required to get the pattern centered.
