305 max rpm/reasonable rpm range etc.:

Since the 305 has the same stroke as the "superior" 350, would you then say that the rpm range is the same and the maximum rpm is basically the same between the two engines?

If true then:

a) Would maximum rpm of 5600 be reasonable or is that too risky?

NOTE: For now let's keep it concerning STOCK engines----i would say L48 would be the "bread and butter" 350 and the LG3 and LG4 would be the bread and butter 305's.

theres actually a whole lot that has to do with how high u can rev the motor safely, so its really hard to just say well a 350 can rev to 6k and so can a 305.

that being said id be inclined to get a lil more revs out of the 305, with the smaller bore the piston wieght should actually be lighter then the 350, and be a lil easier on the rotating assembly at speed.
