305 Vaccum advance issues

Why couldn't everything be mechanical and not electrical??!?!?!?

I am putting in a 305 into a '77 el camnio that has been sitting in my yard for 6 years.

Everything was goin great until i noticed "the problem". The vaccum advance was missing from the distributer and a wiring harness with 4 wires coming out of it. (Asside from the usual wires going to the cap). Anyone got any bright ideas on how to wire the distributer. I don't want to invest in a new one. There are also some sensors connected to vaccum lines, could these be part of the "electronic advance"?

sounds like you have either a TBI or a TPI distributer, if you have changed the motor over to a carb you'll have to get a different distributer for your motor. BUT if you're running the TBI or TPI then you'll need to get a wiring warness loop from one of the vendors who sell them to make it work correctly in your 77 el........joe
