if your timing was off; or rocker adjustment wrong:orplug wires were mixed it still should buck;belch or pop....check dist. cap and make sure dist. electrical connector is plugged in.then check engine timming it could be out 180*

it is a stock gm hei dist. the only wires on the dist are the ones from the rotor to the dist, the battery wire, and the tach. right? the plastic connecter for the battery wire was loose and will slip right off with a small tug..maybe??
the timing is dead on im sure of it, i checked tdc before i put the heads on and dist is pointing directly at #1.
also of course i did the cam and crank gear perfectly when i replaced the cam, im sure timing isent the issue.. something electrical...

Then it`s one of three things, since the HEI is pretty simple, it`s either the coil, the module or the pick up coil. It`s recommended the coil and module be replaced at the same time. You may want to check the wires going from the guts to the cap to be sure none are broken.
