i want to do the same thing. i guess they are 58cc's and it'll raise the compression ratio a bit, but if they're ported, they should make some good power. i still have to find out more info though

I am building a 355 Chevy and will be putting 305 World Products
heads on it.I reckon with Fel Pro 1044, I will get 9.7:1 comp.
and with Fel Pro 1003, 9.9:1.Can anyone confirm these
calculations?
Can anyone tell me if these comp. ratios are too high?,I can get 98 octane here in Spain. The engine will be using itīs computer with a chip from Chevrolet, and has a knock sensor.

Assuming Flat top pistons and deck hieght of 9.25 you get around 10 to 10.5 to one ratio. 305 heads ported or not still can't flow enough CFM to properly feed eight cylinders. Kept below 4000 or so you can make good torque with the relatively small runners for high charge velocity. A tuned length manifold will add to the ramming effect when the proper cam is used, aiding torque production even more.

The World heads are pretty good and I have a Performer intake manifold, the headers are Edelbrock and they go into a 3 inch exhaust, here in Spain I donīt have a cat. in the system. The cam is a Crane Powermax 2020 grind, with 1.6:1
roller rockers thats .427 int. and .451 ex. so I think it breathes quite well.Just worried about the comp. ratio,at the moment I canīt afford new heads.
