307 to 350 swap. Flexplate and starter Q's

three weeks ago I decided it was time to give my impala a heart transplant. While I was at it, i opted to clean up the engine bay too. No point in working backwards down the road. The impala had a running 307 that It came with when I bought the car a year ago. The engine was strong but I wanted something fresh so I dropped in a rebuilt 350 that I had bought for another project that I sold. So here I am in week 3 of my transplant...

I used the flexplate and starter off the 307 and put it on the 350. Everything bolted up just fine. Behind that is a rebuilt turbo 350 that replaced the powerglide. The new motor and tranny are in, but I have yet to start it. After reading a few threads I think I might have caught a problem ahead of time........

Can the starter off a 307 be used on a 350 ?

Here is a before pic

And a current pic of what I've done so far..

There are 2 different bolt patterns for 2 different tooth counts on the flexplates. One is staggered and the other is straight. As long as you have the threaded holes in the block for that starter, it will work. You already put it on, so give it a go..... Mainly because you said the starter & flexplate came as a working set, so you don't need to worry about tooth count.

Yeah I reused the starter bolts from the 307 and they went into the 350 block just fine. I figured i'd be okay, since it was a "working set" as you put it, but I wanted to be sure before I started it. Thanks for your help.

The color is called Intense Blue Pearl off a dodge dakota R/T.
