30's Roof Insert

What is the best way to fill in the roof insert on a 30's car?

Get the roof of an old Voyager or a chevy "M" van, they make xlnt filler panels and have ribs to strengthen the roof.

The insert is ok, I just need to know if you seal it or weld it in ect?
