318 stalling when gas is applied, timing??

Hello all

I have my 318 working great in my '77 truck, other than the stalling problem. First, let me tell you guys what i got on it.

msd blaster 2 coil

mopar orange box

headers

true duals with h pipe and cherry bombs

super tall filter, two normal frams stacked ontop of each other.

rebuilt carter bbd carb ( i rebuilt it)

when i try womping it, it will almost instantly stop, but if i go slow on the gas, it will go fine, when i have it about mid throttle, and then i stomp on her fast, it will stutter, then will run to full roar (awesome feedback growl with the cherry bombs ) Ive tried adjusting the accelerator pump, didn't really help much

ive tried adjusting the mixture, if i tried putting it more into it, a carb backfire would happen.

with the backfire, im thinking maybe the timing is a little off, especially since i put the orange box and coil on, maybe i need to retard or advance it a few degrees, since the spark is more powerful now.

Thanx,

Jerry

How strong is the squirter? With the engine off and choke open, look down the carb and open the throttle. You should see two good streams take place, one down into both sides of the primarys.....
