Go to http://carnut.com/ then go to "car pics index" on the right side of the page, then chevy, then 1932, then choose 3window or 5 window coupe. Tons of pics there.

32 Chevys were not called "Dueces"..............The Fords grabbed that distinction. I guess that you are asking for pictures of 32 Chevys?

Aw, come on Poncho...that's a Chebby guy lookin' for acceptance. All kidding aside...ya gotta respect anyone who builds these early Chevys. Hope the wood is in good shape 'cause replacing the wood with metal is really a PIA.

I'm bringing this thread back from the dead because I just bought a 32 Chevy 5 window coupe project. I did a search to see how many of you where crazy enough to build one of these wood framed wonders. It doesn't look like there are many of you. My project came with an almost complete wood kit but I'm trying to decide whether I should just rebuild the frame work in metal.

I redid a mopar roaster in steel. It is the only way to go as far as permanent.
The car won't stay tight with wood. IMO....especially door flex. Glue joints loosen, wood moves as it dries out no matter if it's kiln dried or not. It moves with humidity changes. The bad part? A fresh wood framed car sounds really sweet when you close a door. A little quieter as far as road noise deadening as well. |

You probably don't need any advice on building a car

A little known fact is that Chevrolet made and sold more 1932's than Ford did.
Ford did not start selling the 1932 Ford until March 31, 1932 ... giving Chevrolet a good head start ... 1932 was the worse year of the Great Depression and many folks did not have money to eat ... much less buy a new car. Ford sold only 203 thousand vehicles. The wood in a early Chevrolet rotted and the termites also loved them. Fords on the other hand had very little wood. Fords had the V8 flathead and Chevrolet had the 6 cylinder. So the Fords became Hot Rods and the Chevys did not. I actually like the LOOKS of a 1932 Chevrolet. I think they look NICE But I have two 1932 Fords ...
