32 frame-A body
Hi, Does anyone know what the frame dimensions are for a 32 frame thats going under a 30 ford coupe body? I know that it may or may not have to be pinched in front where the cowl bolts on to the frame. But in back by the wheel wells the kickup has to be pinched in to go inside the body. How would one do this, by heating or carefully bending it? How much to pinch the frame in also? I'm building the frame from scratch with American Stamping rails, so any help would be great. Thanks Tucker1

As a 32 Ford owner and a moderator here, I would like to WELCOME YOU HERE.. ![]() Model A's on a 32 chassis really look good IMHO...I got these words and photos from a fellow I know in Northern California.........he is writing a How-To book on the very subject. He has been published before so this book will get done........but it takes a few years from start to finish ...in getting it printed.... QUOTES......From the fellow I know ...are below....... The subject is a Model A highboy coupe on Deuce rails, and while it would have been convenient to begin with new bones from ASC, there was a mostly good platform. It was salvaged from a not-quite-finished Deuce roadster that had come to grief in a trailering incident, at which point it was brought in for a new chassis. ![]() . . . then parked the coupe body on top for the next round of head-scratching work. ![]() The first bits of metal to fall victim to the cutoff wheel were the rear frame horns . . . ![]() . . . followed by the back couple of feet of body rails and the rumbleseat hinge reinforcing plates, allowing the Model A body . . . ![]() . . . to sit comfortably on the Deuce frame as though that's the way it's been all along. ![]() We called it a day once we'd parked the SBC block and THM-350 trans in place. Gotta save some fun for next week. end of quote from the fellow I know.... No real measurements but.......you may have to wait for the book to come out.......but maybe a idea or two on what and how... Again WELCOME.... DEUCE. |
