327 TO 350 CONVERSION
OK, the 327 gave up the ghost and I got a deal on a rebuilt 350. The 350 is still GEN 1 but with a one piece rear seal. 1st question: Old harmonic balancer was 6.75, new is 8 and puts the vee-belt pully out further to the front of the engine. I'd like to keep it close to the block like the 327 and re-use the existing alternator bracket. Can I just re-use the old 327 harmonic balancer? (327 was internal balance, 350 is external balance). I'm open for ideas.
Can i get the old 327 flywheel re-drilled for the new pattern on the crankshaft or would i be better of with a new flywheel? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
