It must be a homemade 327 because they never made a factory 4-bolt 327.

In 68 I worked at a chevy dealership, I ran across a few four bolt main 327s in camaros and novas, these were some of the very last 327s used. That is the same time I saw my first 2 bolt 350, some of the very first ones. I kept one from a warrenty job ,built it and put it in a 39 chevy cp. The first 350 in town. I won several bets on the number of main bolts it had. It was so new that you could not get dome pistons oversized for it . T R W custom made my plstons for free, to use the design (fire slots)on there new ones.
But a true 4 bolt main 327 would be very rare.

It is well documented that the 1967 Camaro only 350's were the first 350's. Casting # 3892657. I had one.

They are 2 bolt main blocks

It is also documented that there were no factory 4 bolt 327's. Even the 1967 Z28 302 engines were 2 bolt mains.

Mortec is the most respected source on the Internet for Chevrolet casting numbers.

FREE PISTONS ....from a major company that had 327 pistons in their catalog already and would ONLY have had to change the piston pin location ?

The FREE PISTONS had a very uniqe head design that I designed. The pistons were free so they could have the design. YOU HAVE TO KNOW THE RIGHT PEOPLE. Most major companys supply all my parts, It takes lots of ink (MAG COVERAGE) and 30 years of winning ISCA shows. Nearly 50 years building hotrods to get this kind of sponsership

It is hard two document 50 years of exp. There is a lot of stuff comes out of detroit that is not documented.

Like the ZL1. our dealership had the only fully equipted one, that I caught on fire while making mods on the holly, then roasted the brakes and roters on a test drive (run). While working for super chevy in 95 they had a ZLi reunion the car was there, it had not been redone, the owner and I had 3 days to discuss the service history. He learned there was some things not documented on the car. Most of the history is on microfilm at the dealership, some is on shop tickets in my shop.

I respect people WHO can back up the talk with the facts.

Pistons do NOT have head design....they have dome design.

You gave up a very unique (not uniqe) dome design for a set of pistons? A Chevy dealership mechanic gives away a unique design to TRW?

A person with sponsorship like you claim SHOULD BE ABLE to spell it.

Get real......

here we go with the 4 bolt 327 roll again, I agree with duece, they never made one. seen it written and said too many times, and every time someone tells me they have one it`s been a 350 each time. Troy I realize your new here, keep in mind that Duece is not, many people on this post owe there thanks to Duece and his knowledge as you will come to learn the same about 4 Jaw Chuck, BOBCRMAN and others. You asked Duece to respect his elders, when your not showing him respect, and that`s one thing on the board we all try to do is show respect, to disagree is one thing, to be disrespectful is another. as I have said to my father and many other people older than myself, just because your older don`t make you smarter. I didn`t say you got to like any of us, I`m just saying you want respect, show respect.

how am i not showing respect? I`m the one that got jumped on and called a lier, and didn`t know what i was talking about. the proof is in the pudden, the pic of the 69 camaro is proof enough. i bult the car ground up, to a 5 year grandchampion winner, to many mods to list. it was built on a shoestring budget and won over all the high dollor show cars on the circuit, enough said on that. can i not state my opinion and ideas without getting wacked like in iraq. or step aside because you boys have been here longer.
i`ve read a lot of ans. and opinions, some i didn`t agree with, but i did not jump on that person. and sure didn`t question a persons word that i did not know. or jab them on there spelling
just to have something else to cut with. any i know where i`ve been, and you will to when you get there.

I didn`t see where he openly called you a liar, I saw where he did not agree with what you said, and if he didn`t believe you that`s his choice and is not the same as calling someone a liar because they don`t believe it. you disrespected him by calling him ******. as far as the 4 bolt 327 myth goes, show us one, with documentation and suffix code that is unaltered factory 4 bolt main cap block, and shut us all up, until you do so, you`ll have those who don`t believe and those that do, I`m not gonna believe it until you can show me one. enough said.
