327 assembly in a 350.

I have a friend that is looking for a budget build. It is going on front mount sand rail and is more of a grudge machine to out run another guy.

He is looking for the least expensive way to build a engine with decent power, Upper 300 hp. We came up with using the Large journal crank, rods, and .030 over forged pistons from my 327 that has a cracked block. He has a couple 350's laying round that need rebuild. He was thinking this or a short block. I am also going to sell some vortec heads that were on my old motor. The previous combonation was 11.5 c/r and 385ish hp. (this was dd numbers it was never dynoed)

Would the pistons and rods work or are the deck height on between the 2 engines different? He would like to used forged so he can shoot some juice to it. He already has the NOS system that came from the old 327. I believe it was jetted for 125 shot.
