I finally took possesion of a 58 Chevy 2 Door. At some point in it's life someone droped a 327 in it.

Where do I locate numbers to find out what 327 I have?
A quick look after getting it into the garage all I could find where firing order numbers.

First, wash the engine off really well. then take the valve covers off and look for a casting number on the top of the heads. then for the block, look along the back of the engine for the casting number, near where the trans bolts up, or along the front near the timing cover. You need to know the #'s for the block and the heads in case there is a mismatch.

Consult the Hotrodders Knowledge Base, we have a variety of Chevrolet engine tech data pages listed.

Here's a direct link: Chevrolet Engine Technical Data.

Let me know if that's helpful. Or, if anyone knows of any other similar pages, let me know and I'll add them to the Knowledge Base so that we can get them all listed in one place.
