327 rebuild

I am doing my first rebuild on a 68 327 with 64cc heads. I am wondering if a 327 piston is the same as a 350 piston or are they not interchangable. If not what is the difference.

Thanks for the help

THe 327 has a 3.250 inch stroke, the 350 a 3.480 inch stroke, they both have the same rod lenth, so the piston for the 350 had to be shorter so it would remain in the bore at TDC. the compression height of a 327 is 1.675, a 350 is 1.560.
Keep in mind when you order your pistons that you get those that have the correct compression height, many cheap replacement pistons have .020 off the tops. Ebay is ate up with 2 valve relief, coated skirt hyper pistons for the 327 at $149, they`re made by sealed power and are good pistons with the correct height, compression will be right in the 9.5:1 range which is ideal for the street.
