the 300 horse 327 had 461 casting camel hump heads in the early years, flat top pistons, 10:1 compression, 1.94 1.50 valves, 160cc intake runners, a cam with 195 202 duration and 390 410 lift, this cam is still avalible in crane cams "blueprint" series. the L79 350 horse 327 had 11:1 compression, camel hump heads with 2.02 intake 1.60 exhaust valves, dome top pistons, a aluminum intake, a Holley 585cfm 4 bll carb, cam specs were 222 duration and 447 lift. to duplicate the 300 horse 327 would be a safer bet, but you could build the 350 horse if you lower the compression to run on pump gas, get a set of good heads and a decent cam and intake package and your 327 will be a strong runner, these engines are known to be more revvers than torque engines.
