33 Ford windshield fit up issues

I have a 33 Ford that I chopped the top on a few yrs ago. I just recently cut the stock windshield frame & installed the rubber seal around it to check fit up. The windshield will not close w/o applying pressure, & even then there is a good 1/2 inch gap between the base of the windshield frame & the dash mounting lip. I checked the fit up w/o the rubber seal, & it is better - so I'm thinking the rubber seal is not correct, even though it is from a reputable supplier.

Anyone face this problem before ? What rubber windshield seal do you find fits the best ? Also, just to check my dimensions, does anyone have dimensions of a stock windshield frame opening on the car (in the middle would be OK) .
