I ran your combo on Desktop Dyno using the Edl.RPM flow #'s and XE262 specs. (I ran the cam specs at seat to seat timing. Comp lists the specs @ .006, but Desktop Dyno only uses @.050 or seat to seat)
Torque @ 2000 rpm is 325 ft.lbs., climbs to 360 ft.lbs. @3500 rpm and stays above 300 ft. lbs. until 5500 rpm when it drops to 295 ft. lbs. HP peak is 310 HP @ 5000 rpm. The curve is pretty flat between 4500 rpm and 6000 rpm (around 300 HP). Looks good for your intended purpose. (edit--these figures are for stock manifolds with mufflers. With small tube headers and mufflers peak #'s are: 349 HP @ 5500 rpm & 385 ft. lbs. @ 4000 rpm) Last edited by jhs914; 07-23-2006 at 09:23 PM. |

Just for grins I ran your combo with the XE268H cam instead of the 262.
Peaks are 323 HP @ 5500 rpm and 352 ft. lbs. @ 3500 rpm. Power stays over 300 HP between 4500-6500 rpm and torque is flat between 3000-4500 rpm @ around 350 ft. lbs. (edit- the corrected figures with headers/mufflers are 364 HP @ 5500 rpm & 381 ft. lbs. @ 4500 rpm) Last edited by jhs914; 07-23-2006 at 09:28 PM. |

Performance trends show up at 365hp at 5700, and 400 ft.lbs at 4200. This was using and 1 5/8" open header.
We about a year ago built a 327 for a customer with a set of bowl blended 461's, 10-1, Comps XE274H-10, and a light worked Torker intake (the old style one) and a Quick Fuel 750. I dont remember the torque, but it did make 385hp at 5900. |
