331 stroker

I'm planning on building a 331 stroker small block ford. I've never built a stroker before, so I'm kind of in the dark. Basically, it has 3.25" stroke and 5.4" rods. What I'm not sure about is the pistons. Do I need custom pistons for this engine, to change the pin height, or can I go with standard 289/302 pistons?

thanks

You won't need a "custom" piston, but the standard 289/302 won't work. JE/SRP has an off the shelf piston just for the 331/347 stroker combo.

I'm running a SCAT 331 kit with the SRP pistons.

Check with Brian at www.adperformance.com for great pricing and super tech help on strokers.

You'll love the 331.

ya, thats what I meant, ad performance does have the right prices, he e-mailed me and said I could get a cast 351W crank for like 399$ (to make a 408) and forged cleaveland cranks for an un beatable (to me) price...but I havent purchased any of his products so I usualy wont comment untill I have tried the product...but since someone else mentioned it...CHECK IT OUT!!!!!
