Thanks for the positive comments guys, but I must give credit to the two fellows that color sanded and buffed everyting. I applied the paint and clear, but they brought out the dazzling finish.

John

It's a 2005 Dodge truck color, but with a lot more clear than Chrysler applies.

Vince thanks alot. This gives me something to work with.Trying to get a colour for my '46. This is one of the colours that I was looking at along with a '06 Pontiac colour. Just want it a little deeper maroon that doesn't wash out in the sunlight. I think between the two I'll be able to get what I need. Thanks again. I really appreciate it.

Your car is looking great too by the way. Keep it up! I may be seeing you soon at any south Texas car show soon.

Jason

By the way, I have a 05 Dodge Ram 2500 that is that color. Looks great in the bright sunshine.

It must be nice to be so close to be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I can't even find the light switch!

Car looks great! Looking forward to seeing it all done and sitting in the sunlight. What are your plans for color in the interior?

The Tea's seat is coming already upholstered in dark gray leather. I am thinking I will do the rest of the interior in the same shade with some lighter gray inserts. The dash and all the window moldings are the color of the body.

Going together

Had a productive day today. I have read that to put one of these cars together you start from the rear and work forward. I was apprehensive when it came time to fit the deck lid because I had so much trouble with it. If you guys remember the deck lid was the worse fit of the car. The gaps were uneven, close at the top and wide at the bottom. One side had about a 3/8" gap while the other side varied from 1/4" to 3/8". Had to add to both sides then sand away until both gaps were even. The underside of the deck lid was a total disaster. I spent well over 80 hours just on the underside of the deck lid and the body smoothing and filling. Well it all has paid off, the fit was perfect and it could not possibly look any better....I am stoked

Just wanted to say awesome job vince. I don't think I've posted in this thread yet, but have peaked in from time to time. After the money and all the time you have spent correcting that body, I am glad to see you at the point you are. Not many are cut out to stick with such an involved project and continue to do great work.I think I've bought ppg paint in that $$$$$$ code before. I remember a certain indigo blue. If it was red I would kinda expected it, but blue.
